How do I register?
Either select Register under the Member Center if you know the Program you want or select Programs on the left hand side, from there select the appropriate Program for your player and then follow the simple instructions. Once you are signed up as a Member you can log on any time via the Member Center. Contact lmay@sypyasports.org if you have any problems or questions.

What is the South Park Refund Policy?
Our refund policy is designed to minimize the impact to both parties in event of cancellation. Expenses for each participant are incurred early in the registration process and include, but are not limited to, jerseys, uniforms, processing fees, and facility usage fees. Soon thereafter, expenses increase again as the program contracts services for the coaching staff and game officials based on the number of participants. Due to expenses incurred at the time of registration, $35.00 of the fee is non-refundable for cancellations prior to the start of the program regardless of the reason for cancellation. The entire fee is non-refundable once the program has started regardless of the reason for cancellation.

Are there any Discounts or Scholarships?
SPYA is a non-profit organization. Our program operates on a very tight budget so that we can keep fees as low as possible. However, we will make every attempt to help offset fees for our programs for families that are in need of assistance. If you would like talk further please contact us.

No Play Rules
The following items are non-negotiable. Players must adhere or they will not play.

1. All players must have current USA Field Hockey Membership.
2. All players must wear protective gear.

Rain outs and Lightening
In case of heavy rain, a blast email will be sent if we cancel practice or games. We will play in a light rain or drizzle but will cancel via a blast email in case of heavy rain or down pour. If lightening is threatening we ask parents to remain close to practice fields. If we see lightening we will ask parents to have kids grab their stuff and sit in a car for 30 minutes. We will resume practice once we have 30 minutes since the last lightening sighting. Practice is cancelled if we stop within 30 minutes of the end of practice.

Parents - If you have dropped off your player and left the field and you subsequently hear thunder or see lightening please immediately drive back to the field. We need cars to house the kids during the delay.

What are the expectations of parents?

1. Be punctual for both drop off and pick up.
2. Hydrate your player. Especially as it gets warmer make sure your player drinks plenty of water before practice and brings adequate water AND picks up any trash on the way home.
3. Notify the coach if your player will not attend a session.
4. Notify your coach if your player is injured in any way or there are any other concerns that could affect his/her performance that the coach should know about.
5. Let the coaches coach. Please refrain from giving advice during games.
6. Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times. Coaches will intervene if any spectator is violating this expectation. Do not question or argue the calls of the referees. Spectators will be asked to leave the area if the behavior continues. Egregious violations may result in being asked to leave the program.
7. In case of threatening lightening please consider remaining at practice. The safest place for players is in a car. In case of lightening we would ask each parent to take 3-4 kids to a car until we resume practice. It would be easier for everyone if we all parked in the upper parking lot on those days. If you have dropped off your player and left the field and you subsequently hear thunder or see lightening please immediately drive back to the field.
8. When asked by the team parent to assist please help out.
9. If you have questions for the coach feel free to talk with the coach before or after practice while respecting the coach’s need to start practice on time and need to leave after practice.
10. If you have an issue of concern please contact the commissioner directly.
11. Each parent who signed up for this program, acknowledged an online waiver covering a number of topics. A copy of the waiver is posted online.
12. Have fun. SPYA Field Hockey is designed to foster a love of the game, sportsmanship, fitness, and a solid skill base.
